Some people go out and actually do what I teach them, and it’s fun to see this happen. I’ve helped to create many millionaires, but the vast majority of people out there somehow lose their momentum after inspiring trainings. Why is that? Perhaps you recognize yourself, having gone to a great seminar, from which you’ve taken exciting, life-changing notes, and then shortly thereafter, you somehow gravitate back to your old routine. What happened?

I’m in Kuala Lumpur right now, gearing up for two intense workshops I’ll teach this month to eager students in this area. Several hundred people await a message that will change their lives. While it’s ultimately up to them to change, I must find a way to help them carry out their best intentions.

Most of you listening to my “Breakfast” call are entrepreneurs who want to make money doing what you love to do. One of your most essential skills is to build a list of people who might actually be interested in your product or service. How do you attract them and begin to make a connection with them? I’ve challenged most of you to gather a database of at least 10,000 names by 1/1/11. Art Nevarez, Chief Technology Officer of our Enlightened Wealth Institute and extended organizations, has agreed to share some of his own expertise about building lists. Using creative marketing systems and techniques on the Internet, Art has been responsible for collecting about a billion names for the various organizations he has worked for during his career. Here is a technological guru who is currently helping us gather at least 10,000 names per day!

An enlightened entrepreneur creates wealth in order to make the world a better place.
About ten years ago, I wanted to see if I could make $24,000 in 24 hours on the Internet. I more than succeeded, and that was when the Internet was still a relatively new tool for marketers. It was just getting going around 1995, with the launch of major online retailers like Amazon, and search engines like Google soon thereafter. Email became one of many online activities, and to this day remains a significant way to communicate. Now the Internet is the biggest electronic vehicle in our lifetime. Communication with the world has entered a whole new dimension with social media. This game-changer has gone from nowhere to the most important activity on the net in just the last three years.

I am talking with you today from a beach on Kauai, with the sound of waves in the background. It is still dark outside since it is 5:00 in the morning here, and the moon is so gorgeous! My wife and I have come here this week to join with other top-income earners in our network marketing company called USANA. We are members of an elite group called the Fortune 25, and we are here to celebrate our success. I've been in USANA for about fifteen years, and the company was still relatively new when I decided to give it a try. It was about 1994 when my secretary at the time, Collette Larsen, suggested I look at this company. With poor finances at the time, I was very resistant. I didn't expect this venture to work, so I wouldn't listen. Sometimes you may feel that way when I make suggestions on this Breakfast call. The ideas may not fit into your belief system, or the timing isn't right, or you are prioritizing something else. But some beliefs we inadvertently build up (possibly controlled by our critical voice), which hold us down like prisoners. If you truly want to be in the top 1% of anything you want to do, you must be very open-minded. Even though I wasn't open at the time, my wife was. She saw the opportunity and eventually I saw the light too. Since the inception of USANA, about one million people have enrolled - some stayed, most moved on for various reasons - and now I am number 24, among their top income-earners in the world. About 200,000 people are currently active in the company.

I spent last week getting ready for the speech I did yesterday with Mark Victor Hansen at the SANG Conference (Speakers and Authors Networking Group). There were about 150 sharp authors and speakers from around the world who came to this event in Hollywood, being held through tomorrow. Significant and famous success stories were there, and it was an incredible networking opportunity to mingle with the best. We could actively gather ideas, techniques and strategies from eachother, even if from different industries. Who might have found a faster route to the top of the mountain? We, as peers, were all exchanging insights, and connecting for potential JV partnerships. We even played a game called "Movers and Shakers". Sitting across a table from one another, we'd get five minutes of brainstorming before we would shift sideways to have a new person in front of us, starting a new five minutes, and so on. It was an interesting experience. And I could only be there for the first day! So I had some members of my team go on my behalf for today and tomorrow. We are learning how successful databases are built by others, and how they are communicated to. We hope to find people with such databases, interested in doing joint ventures. With other entrepreneurs, we are discussing ways to coordinate our financial efforts and goals.
